Shopping
DohaShopping is a pleasure and there is lots of malls to choose from, with new ones popping up everywhere.

You can buy just about anything you can think of in Qatar. Major brand-name outlets are opening all the time. Major shopping malls offer a huge selection of goods. Shopping Malls include City Center-Doha, The Mall, Landmark Shopping Mall, The Centre, Blue Salon, Hyatt Plaza, and Royal Plaza.

For the bargain conscious, you can try the local Souqs - Middle Eastern bazaars where bargaining is a must and bargains are many. Here you will find materials, household goods, clothing and other paraphernalia. When shopping for Middle Eastern artifacts and handcrafts be sure to start at 50% lower than the asking price and negotiate from there.

Food: There are a good number of supermarkets and hypermarkets in Doha and all have a comprehensive range of food from many parts of the world. A wide variety of frozen foods, tinned foods and well-known international brands are always available. Fresh fruits, meats and vegetables are imported from countries around the world, while local and regional vegetables, fruits, milk, and eggs can also be found. These staples are available all year round. For most items, the metric system is in general use.

You can also try the vegetable, meat and fish markets, all part of the Central Market complex out of town on the Salwa road. They serve commercial and private buyers as well as hotels and restaurants. You buy there by the box rather than by the kilo, at very low wholesale prices.
