Dear
Fellow South Africans
Welcome back to everyone fortunate enough to have
spent Christmas and/or New Year's on holiday with
family and friends either here or abroad. Sooner than
we thought it is time yet again to get back to work,
back to school and back to whatever else it is that
fills up our diaries. May this be a blessed new year
for you and your family.
I want to take this opportunity to apologize for the
cancellation of our planned New Years Bash. For some
reason we have underestimated the popularity of this
particular date and could not find any appropriate
venue for the best part of 3 months ahead of time.
I promise that we will be more proactive this year
and strive to make it a reality at the end of 2008.
The SASCOM committee will be meeting up within the
next couple of weeks to finalize the exciting events
planned for the next few months. Details will be put
on the web as soon as it has been discussed, agreed,
diarized and finalized. We guarantee a year jam packed
with fun events for the whole family. Mags is also
steaming up several great ideas for the Ladies Coffee
Mornings for the next few months. Our first Coffee
Morning will be held on Thursday, 17 January 2008.
Please keep an eye on the Coffee Shoppe tab on the
website for the details that will be posted soon.
Just a reminder that we are
planning to wean the community off the e-mail advertising
system and trying to encourage everyone to save our
webpage as a favorite on their web browser to stay
updated. In the next few months I will start sending
e-mails containing only the web address to encourage
everyone to find the details of the appropriate event
on the website rather than depending on the current
e-mail system. The database will ultimately only be
used for emergency and/or urgent communications to
the community.
We look forward to your continued support and participation.
Please feel free to forward any comments, suggestions,
complaints and constructive criticism to welgemoeds@qatar.net.qa.
Kind regards
Lody Welgemoed
